“Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also
sold a piece of property. With his
wife’s full knowledge he kept back
part of the money for himself, but
brought the rest and put it at the
apostles’ feet.”

He was a Levite from Cyprus who sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the
apostles’ feet.

When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word,
What a glory he sheds on our way

This is why there was no one in need at that time

“If you help the poor, you are lending to the
Lord—and he will repay you!”

They sold a piece of property but only brought some to the apostles

I thank thee for the means to serve
With talents and with tithes

This is who they lied to

“Don’t love money; be satisfied with what
you have. For God has said, ‘I will never fail
you. I will never abandon you’”

He told those who brought the offering that they were lying
