What is Heartworm?
Transmitted by mosquitos, the larvae travel to the right ventricle of the heart

What is Panleukopenia?
Also known as Feline Infectious Enteritis; it is highly contagious and caused by a virus. It is so easily spread that a cat can pick it up merely be passing through an area where an infected cat has been.

What is a Maine Coon Cat?
The only long-haired breed native to the US; they have a smooth, shaggy coat and are known as being remarkably gentle - a ‘gentle giant’

This is caused by a parasite in the small intestines. In kittens, this may cause diarrhea to develop

What is FIP Feline Infectious Peritonitis?
This disease is caused by a coronavirus. A rare, but generally fatal disease that spreads rapidly from infected cats; it is easily killed by disinfection. There is no effective treatment - only methods to make the cat more comfortable.

A purely domestic breed that was created by combining the Siamese, Abyssianian and American Shorthair.

The gene type of classic tabby.

What is Polycystic Kidney Disease?
An inherited disease that causes multiple cysts to form. It is the result of a single autosomal dominant gene abnormality. Every cat with this gene abnormality will have the disease; a cat only needs one parent with the gene in order to inherit it and be infected themselves.
