What are PDF files? This file type is the best universal tool for sharing graphics.
The best file type for when you are transferring files to others, especially if they don't have the software you have.
What are layers?
In a software design program, these are the different levels at which one can place an object, text, or image file.
What are rastor images?
These type of graphics are bitmaps. A bitmap is a grid of individual pixels that collectively compose an image.
What are serif fonts?
These type of fonts have little small features on the ends of strokes.
What is red, green, and blue, or RGB?
These are the primary colors for emitted light, the light that emits from computer and television screens.
What is Adobe Illustrator? PSD is photoshop files. INDD is InDesign files.
When a file type ends in the extension ".AI", it is made in this particular software.
What is a path?
This is the black line that appears when you draw a line in Adobe Illustrator. It is made up of a series of points called “anchor points” and line segments between these points. The anchor points on either end have “control handles” and these can be used to control the direction and steepness of the curve.
What are vector images?
These type of graphics are based on mathematical formulas that define geometric primitives such as polygons, lines, curves, circles and rectangles.
What is body text or body copy, or copy?

This word is a measure of how see-through an object is.
What is descreening?
This is what the process is called when one removes moire or halftone effect from an image.
What is leading?
This is the space between lines in a body of text.
What is saturation? Grey is mixed into a color to decrease its saturation.
This term refers to how intense or dull a color is.
What are TIFF or JPG files?
These two file types are great choices for a graphic when the graphic will be printed out.
What is moire? There are processes you can use in Photoshop to get rid of or reduce moire in an image.
This pattern/defect occurs when a scene or an object that is being photographed contains repetitive details (such as lines, dots, etc) that exceed sensor resolution.
What is "Control Z" or "Command Z". Include the shift button to reverse an undone action.
This is the keyboard shortcut to undo an action.
What is x height?
This is the height of the main portions of lowercase letters, excluding ascenders and descenders.
What is value? A tint of a color is a lighter version. A shade of a color is a darker version.
This term is used when talking about the lightness or darkness of color. White mixed in lightens a color. Black mixed in darkens a color.

What are filters? Illustrator calls these "effects."

This is an imaginary line that the letters sit on.
What is split-complementary?
This is a color scheme that uses a color and the two colors on either side of the color's complementary color (using a color wheel that has primary, secondary, and tertiary colors on it).
What are the principles of design?
The elements of design are the individual parts and include the following: line, shape, texture, value, color, form, images, text, and form. Then there are ideas that provide guidance for how to organize the elements of design. Examples include the following: balance, unity, emphasis/dominance/hierarchy, variety, and proximity. What are these guiding ideas collectively called?
