Aplication of the 5 themes of Geography

Far far away from Canton, CT there lies the Kingdom of Lapania. In the magical land of Lapania there exists only a few hundred people. Most of Lapania is covered in deep, thick forest, making it very difficult to travel from one side of the country to the other. The people of Lapania must travel either by hiking or by horse, as there aren’t many roads in the country. Because travel is so difficult, Lapanians rarely move. They cut down trees from the surrounding forests to build their homes, and families may stay there for hundreds of years. The coast is many miles away from the mountains that the Lapanians live in, so they cannot import any food from other countries. Therefore, they provide food for their families by fishing in nearby streams and hunting the animals that live in the forest. At night in the winter temperature can be extremely cold in Lapania. Lapanias are experts at knitting wool blankets, from sheep hunted in the forest to keep warm.
