"In my eyes, it's more powerful to get to know someone indirectly. Rather then them telling me about them, or who they are it's impressive when people get their point across without directly telling me about themselves." - Chris Byke

"An analogy would be when your on an escalator. In theory, there's only one way to get there. While 30 people are standing while it's moving, while your walking to get there faster, you're thinking of ways to get things done faster and more efficiently. This is how it is when being creative in an interview, you want to show exactly how your different from others.

When being asked all of these important questions, you need to prepare to be able to answers question in different/creative ways to show you have different perspectives and can think out of the box to make yourself stand out compared to someone with a basic answer." - Cathy Lightner

"In my company, we research for hours in order to put together reports to help companies make the best investment. In this process we must come up with creative and efficient ways to research and present our reports so companies will buy our knowledge and make them want to come back." - Chris Byke

"During the job process, I once had an applicant have a reference reach out and call me before the interview process. This was a clever way to have someone reach out and bring the point across before I got to know them. This set a good first impression because they took the time to have someone contact me, rather then me having to get in touch with them after the fact." - Chris Byke

"In my company I sometimes have to handle internships and interview processes so I will tell you being creative will definitely help you stand out. Although, we usually limit it to people who are smart, have good grades in college, and are well rounded people, we need creativity within our company. When being interviewed we ask questions that will help fill our companies needs and love people are confident about their creative ideas on how to present and find key information. We do lots of teamwork here to put together presentations and reports to send out to bigger companies. Everyday we need innovation to create important relationships across different markets." - Chris Byke

"Relating back to the 300 answer of achieving a goal, there are always multiple ways to find a solution. You have to consider all of your options when trying to reach a goal, and they all have to be meaningful. You don't want to take the easy route to something because there are so many ways to solve a problem, and having a creative solution will put you at the top of their list." - Cathy Lightner

"Everyday the markets change and new research has to be conducted. Rather than stress and panic, we must do what we do best and come up with new ways to predict what will happen next. We make money selling information that we think will happen to make sure companies make the right investment, so they trust us. There are so many possibilities that we need creative thinkers to come up with new ideas to research the market, as well as bring in new customers and increase revenue." - Chris Byke

"Another example of being innovative is doing your best to reach out and not be forgotten. I had a weird instance where an applicant actually came to my house and dropped off his resume. This was a little extreme but it's ideas like this that force us to remember those names simply by reaching out in a different way." - Chris Byke

"Lastly, even though you see those you're competing against for a job as enemies, sometimes working with others can be helpful. It's true that you want to focus on yourself during an interview/job opportunity, but it's important to the employer to show them you can creatively work as a team. Working creatively in a team is a big skill that you need in business to problem-solve. When everyone is thinking outside of the box it can open everyone's mind and spark creativity around the room by putting ideas together." - Cathy Lightner

In my company, I have to deal with the application and interview process. Every year we get hundreds of applicants that have goals to get hired and start their life making real money. Everyone wants the same thing, but what separates one another is how they approach and accomplish those goals. You want people to know who you are without directly telling them, you need to come up with creative ways to stand out." - Chris Byke

"During the interview, the creativity can be matched by the employer. Sometimes we incorporate innovational questions that people aren't used to answering so we can further understand who they are, and how they think from different angles." - Chris Byke
